Harbor One Captures Members' Licenses

Seeking to reduce identity theft and other security breaches, HarborOne Credit Union has begun scanning members' drivers licenses and then retrieving them as needed. The credit union has deployed ID scanners in its 12 branch locations. Once scanned by member service representatives, member photos are available to staff throughout the credit union for identification purposes. The scanning technology was introduced this summer by HarborOne's data processor, COCC, Avon, Conn. It takes seconds to scan the driver's license or other form of picture ID. The $1-billion credit union said it is encouraging all members to take advantage of the scanning program to help prevent identity theft.
