Hollen Is Named Shapiro Winner

Stan Hollen, president and chief executive officer of Liberty Enterprises, has been named recipient of the California Credit Union League's highest annual individual honor: the Leo H. Shapiro Lifetime Achievement Award. The prestigious award recognizes excellence in credit union philosophy and contributions to the California credit union movement, and serves as a tribute to Shapiro, a California credit union pioneer.

"Stan Hollen has dedicated his entire professional career to the credit union movement," said CCUL President David Chatfield, who presented the Shapiro award Nov. 19 during the CCUL's annual meeting and convention. "He first served on a credit union board of directors at the age of 19. He has gone on to success as a credit union CEO and has made an impact on the state and national levels by serving in leadership positions for various credit union associations, including the California League and CUNA. He now leads Liberty, a top credit union business provider."

Hollen, the former long-time CEO of The Golden 1 Credit Union in Sacramento, became Liberty's top executive in September 2002.
