NCUA Board Vice Chair JoAnn Johnson has named Holly E. Herman as her executive assistant. Herman is well-known to many in credit unions, having spent the past 22 years in the industry, most recently as president/CEO of $500-million Kraft Foods FCU in White Plains, N.Y., and prior to that as CEO of USE Credit Union in San Diego. Herman also served on the CUNA board.
"There is no question, that as we move forward, Holly's wealth of experience in the credit union industry will benefit the NCUA and the nation's credit unions for years to come," said Johnson.
Herman's hiring also extends the recent practice at NCUA of reaching out to CUNA for expertise, as her predecessor Maura Hampton, was a former CUNA lobbyist, and Steve Bosack, hired last year as executive assistant to Board member Deborah Matz, is a former CUNA vice president.
