DALLAS – The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas announced yesterday it awarded Hope Community CU almost $1 million in grants to help the community development credit union sponsor three affordable housing projects in Louisiana where the credit union is working to replace housing destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
The CDCU’s membership in the FHLB will provide funding for the Gulf Coast Housing Partnership to build 60 rental units in Baton Rouge, 54 rental units in Westwego and 26 ownership units in Hammond.
The Dallas Bank also awarded a $90,000 grant to MobilOil FCU to build nine ownerships units through Habitat for Humanity in Beaumont, Texas.
The Dallas Bank awarded a total of $9.1 million in grants yesterday to 30 projects aimed at producing 1,743 units through its affordable housing grant program.
