SHARON, Mass. - Sharon CU said it has gone live with a new image capture system that allows its members to transmit their checks electronically from their home computers.
The system, known as DeposZip, is being offered by EasCorp FCU to its members. Following a few simple instructions, the user scans a check on a simple desktop scanner or all-in-one printer/scanner, whereupon EasCorp captures the data, performs image tests, and securely displays it to the credit union, where it is verified and eventually released for collection.
The $280 million credit union expects the new system will provide opportunities to acquire and retain members who can.t easily get to a branch office or who move away, students who go off to college or local businesses that want the convenience of making deposits from their own shops.
A second EasCorp member, Hanscom FCU, has also gone live with the system.
