Inclusiv adds 11 CUs to Juntos Avanzamos program

Eleven new credit unions have received the Juntos Avanzamos (“together we move forward”) designation from Inclusiv since the start of 2019.

The program – whose title is Spanish for “together we advance” – aims to increase access to affordable financial services for Spanish-speaking consumers in the United States.

The New York-based organization, formerly known as the National Association of Community Development Credit Unions, said this week the new designations will help to bring “affordable, relevant, bi-cultural and bilingual services” to more than 418,000 consumers in six states, with a special focus on Hispanics and immigrants.

The newly designated credit unions comprise:

  • Alive Credit Union (Jacksonville Fla., $138-million assets);
  • Cy-Fair Credit Union (Houston; $252 million);
  • Guardians Credit Union (West Palm Beach, Fla.; $174 million);
  • Icon Credit Union (Boise, Idaho; $309 million);
  • MPS Credit Union (Miami, Fla.; $133 million);
  • Pasadena Service Federal Credit Union (Pasadena, Calif.; $121 million);
  • Premier America Credit Union (Chatsworth, Calif.; $2.86 billion);
  • Rocket Federal Credit Union (McGregor, Texas; $23 million);
  • Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union (Lakewood, Mich.; $85 million);
  • Tucoemas Federal Credit Union (Visalia, Calif.; $241 million);
  • TTCU Federal Credit Union (Tulsa, Okla.; $1.9 billion).

Inclusiv noted that there are now 95 Juntos Avanzamos-designated credit unions operating in 26 states, as well as Washington DC and Puerto Rico, providing services to nearly 6 million consumers.

"The success of the Juntos Avanzamos national program is the result of a growing coalition of leading credit union organizations that recognize the imperative and opportunity that connecting with the Hispanic market represents for our future and relevance as an industry,” Pablo DeFilippi, senior vice president of membership and network engagement at Inclusiv, said in a statement.

Earlier this year, Inclusiv also launched a program with several New York-based credit unions in order to boost financial services access for minority consumers in New York.
