Digital Defense, Inc., a provider of network security compliance and risk-management services, is offering a Countermeasures Service from Netcraft aimed at taking down fraudulent websites. The primary methods include monitoring of DNS, SSL certificates and website front pages, in conjunction with an anti-phishing toolbar and intelligence data feeds with emphasis on spotting an actual or planned attack as early as possible. The addition of Countermeasures includes measures designed to shut down sites used in phishing exploits, the companies said. The phishing and Internet fraud alert solution and the Countermeasures Service are available from Digital Defense on a subscription basis.
