Johnson Praises NFCU's Efforts

At Navy Federal Credit Union's annual meeting here, NCUA Vice Chair JoAnn Johnson had praise for the work NFCU does in serving its unique members.

"There aren't many financial institutions in the marketplace today that are willing or able to cope with the transient lifestyle of the typical military member," said Johnson. "Navy Federal understands the unique needs of their membership and serves as a bridge between their military service and their financial needs."

Noting she had recently been appointed to the Federal Commission on Financial Education and Literacy, Johnson added, "Navy Federal has become a leader in the area of delivering financial education to its members. In the last two years, Navy Federal has reached out to in excess of 220,000 individuals with financial education and counseling sessions...and significant resources are spent in training the young Sailor or Marine in maintaining that first checking account."
