TOPEKA, Kan. -- Nine local credit unions, members of the Topeka CU Foundation, collected $50,000 to support nine area non-profits. The first donation was awarded last week to the Marian Clinic, which provides medical and dental care to the uninsured. Other charities receiving donations include: Boys and Girls Clubs of Topeka, Ronald McDonald House and the Capper Foundation Easter Seals.
The top five banks and thrifts have combined total assets of nearly $13 trillion.
