Katrina-Damaged CU Gets NCUALoan

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - (04/17/06) – NCUA announced Friday itawarded three no-interest loans last month through it CommunityDevelopment Revolving Loan Fund, the biggest going to a creditunion severally damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Last month’sloans went to UNO (University of New Orleans) FCU $299,000, as wellas Bethex FCU, New York ($180,000) and Kearney FCU, Kearney, Nebr.($200,000). The agency has made just four of the no-interestdevelopment loans so far this year, the other going to LatinoCommunity FCU, in Durham, North Carolina, in February.
