RANTOUL, Ill. – Two men apparently took a taxi to rob Credit Union 1 Wednesday morning, then took the cab to a nearby car dealership to buy a vehicle with their loot.
Police arrested the two suspects while they were inside the dealership buying a car.
The cabby told police he received an unusually large fare for his efforts.
Police arrested 19-year-old Virgil Richmond, who is believed to be the robber, and an unidentified 51-year-old man they say waited in the cab for him.
Some of the stolen credit union cash was recovered from Richmond, according to police.
