COLUMBUS, Ohio–The Ohio CU League has launched a new website with a goal of making league resources more accessible, streamlining OCUL’s ability to obtain CU feedback, and encouraging collaboration among credit unions in this state.

League President Paul Mercer explained the site, a year in development, is part of OCUL’s new web delivery strategy. “This launch represents a more aggressive way we will interact with and serve our membership. It allows us to more efficiently collect and disseminate information among credit union leaders, who are exhibiting a growing appetite to use the web to obtain and share information. It will become our strongest communications forum and will also help us communicate with other key stakeholders in the movement, the press, and public policymakers.”

The site (www.ohiocreditunions.org) was redesigned to be simpler and easier to navigate, explained Katie Walton, director of marketing. “The site is categorized into easy-to-use information buckets that were developed from member credit union focus groups.”

Walton added that the new site is intended to be an information hub, not only for two-way league and member CU communication, but to also encourage credit unions to collaborate with each other. Discussion boards and forums are available, as well as an “address book” that includes contact information for Ohio CUs that can be updated by affiliates.  CUs can also pay for league events online, make membership payments and contribute to PACs online.
