Liberty Card Services has filed an application to patent its innovative photo card process.
According to Liberty Card Services President Michelle Thornton, the Liberty process is unique because it uses Liberty's secure business-to-business Internet site to enable financial institutions to easily upload digital photos for photo card production.
"The process captures the digital photo from the credit union, resizes the image, corrects the resolution, and presents the photo back for acceptance and confirms submission of the file on-line-all in a matter of seconds," Thornton said.
The company noted that financial institutions have often found the photo card process to be cumbersome or too expensive, and claimed its advancement takes away those barriers.
