Lindley To Be Part-Time CUNA Mutual Lobbyist

Long-time credit union lobbyist Jonathan Lindley resurfaced in the credit union world last week, soon after he was let go by NASCUS. Lindley, the elder statesman among credit union lobbyists, was hired as a consultant/part-time lobbyist by CUNA Mutual Group and its chief lobbyist Larry Blanchard. It was Lindley who hired Blanchard at CUNA when Lindley ran CUNA's Washington office in 1972.

According to Blanchard, Lindley will focus on non-credit union issues, like pension reform, and the double taxation of dividends paid by mutuals.

Lindley will join another long-time credit union hand working for Blanchard and CUNA Mutual, Bob Loftus, the former chief lobbyist at NCUA.
