BOSTON – LPL Financial Services, formerly Linsco/Private Ledger, said yesterday it has agreed to acquire Independent Financial Marketing Group, a provider of marketing services for credit unions and banks, from Canada’s Sun Life Financial. LPL, one of the biggest providers of third-party investment services for credit unions, acquired UVEST Financial Services in January, expanding its presence in the market. Independent Financial Marketing is based in the New York suburb of Purchase. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
