Long-Term Mortgage Rates TipDownwards

McLEAN, Va. - (01/14/05) -- Long-term mortgage rates dippedslightly this week, for the second week in a row, according toFreddie Mac. The average for the benchmark 30-year, fixed-rate loanslipped to 5.74% this week, from 5.77% last week; while the averagefor the 15-year, fixed-rate mortgage declined to 5.19%, from 5.21.The average for the one-year ARM held steady at 4.10%, the same aslast week.
