FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. John Burnell, former board chairman and director for more than 30 years at Community Choice CU and its predecessor, passed away.
Burnell served Community Choice for more than 30 years beginning in 1976. He began as a volunteer on the board at Redford Township CU, one of Community Choice’s predecessor credit unions, in 1976. From 2001 through 2004 and 2006 through 2007, Burnell served as chairman of the Community Choice board.
The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council — whose members include federal bank regulators — issued a proposal Tuesday to overhaul the bank supervisory ratings process, the first such revision in 30 years.
