NORMAN, Okla. – Ronald “Ronnie” Smithers, 66, CEO of $7-million Friends FCU the past 32 years, died Monday at Norman Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
Smithers began his own business, Pioneer Landscape Nursery, working in this before beginning a career with the credit union. He still was with Friends Federal Credit Union at the time of his death.
