AUGUSTA, Me. – Maine State CU has agreed to donate $36,000 to organization fighting hunger in Kennebec and Somerset counties.
Representatives from local hunger organizations will meet at the credit union today and each organization will receive a donation in the amount of $406.79. Those that participated in the credit union’s 2008 annual Walk to Stop Hunger will receive an additional bonus in the amount of $1250.
Each year, the credit union hosts several events to raise money for ending hunger. The largest event is their annual Walk to Stop Hunger which raised more than $18,000 in 2008.
