The robbery was reported at 10:14 a.m. on April 11 at the Hudsonville office of $122.4 million-asset Community West.

Workers told police that a man dressed as a woman entered the bank, pulled out a handgun, demanded money and then put the cash into a backpack and fled on a motorcycle, according to a published report.

An Ottawa County sheriff's deputy spotted the suspect on his motorcycle tossing away his wig, suspected that the man was the CU robber and pursued. During the chase speeds exceeded 100 mph and ended when the suspect attempted a U-turn and crashed his bike into the patrol car.

Police recovered the cash and the gun. The amount of money taken was not disclosed. The suspect is hospitalized and charges are pending.
