COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Developers broke ground this week on a $33 million student housing and commercial development at the University of Maryland that is being financed by State Employees CU of Maryland and other credit union members of the CUBC, LLC, the member business lending CUSO.

The project will contain 171 residences providing housing for 669 undergraduates, 9,500 square feet of retail space, 351 parking spaces and a 10,000 square foot green roof.
The developer of the project, known as Starview Plaza, is Star Development Group of Columbia, Md.
Completion of the project is scheduled for August 2011.
