WICHITA, Kan. - (01/04/06) John Smith, who was replacedlast year as Missouri credit union supervisor, will return as chiefcredit union regulator in Kansas, where he served from 1993 to1998, Gov. Kathleen Sebelius announced Tuesday. Smith served aschief credit union regulator in Missouri from 1999 until 2005 whennew Gov. Matt Blunt appointed Sandra Branson, president of MissouriState CU as credit union supervisor. Prior to being named Kansascredit union supervisor in 1993 Smith served on the board of WesleyEmployees CU in Wichita. He has also been active inNASCUS.
