DES MOINES, Iowa – The Members Group has implemented DefenseEdge, the latest fraud prevention tool from First Data, a provider of electronic commerce and payment processing.
First Data said DefenseEdge can help detect fraudulent transactions more quickly, allowing TMG’s card-issuing clients to stop fraud loss sooner. The company said its tool can identify threats in real time from non-monetary actions, such as a change of address request or a PIN change, which can signal account takeovers or counterfeit cards. TMG’s fraud detection system then will be able to call up this information on demand, whereas other fraud tools do not generate reports often until the next day, First Data said.
TMG is a card processing affiliate of the Iowa CU League.
