PAUL, Minn. - (11/16/05) -- U.S. Bancorp announced Tuesday it iscombining its Fastbank Free ATM network with its recently acquiredMoneyPass network to create a national, surcharge-free network with10,500 ATMs in 48 states--the nation's largest surcharge-freenetwork. The new network will retain the MoneyPass brand name,which U.S. Bancorp obtained in May when its Elan Financial Servicesunit acquired Genpass Inc. The combined network will have acardholder base of 20 million consumers. More than 2,500 creditunions provide their members with surcharge-free access over theMoneyPass network through various agreements with The Credit Union24, the Illinois CU League's Member Access, Mid-Atlantic CorporateFCU, and several others.
