JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Fidelity National Information Services reported a $53.9 million fourth quarter loss yesterday, due to an $87.6 million charge for its recently completed acquisition of Metavante Technologies.
Fourth-quarter revenue rose almost 3% to $1.3 billion, with all of the increase due to the Metavante deal. The $3 billion stock-swap deal for Metavante was completed Oct. 1 and figures for Metavante were included in Fidelity National’s fourth-quarter financials.
For the full year revenue increased less than 1% to $5.1 billion, while net income was down 50% to $105.9 million.
"Despite the highly challenging economic environment, 2009 was a very successful year for our company," stated Fidelity National Chairman William Foley. "FIS generated excellent operating results and also completed the most significant acquisition in the company’s history. These achievements provide a strong foundation for our continued growth and success."
