METHUEN, Mass. – Methuen Municipal Employees FCU is moving from the Searles Building, the city hall, to a new location in Methuen’s historic district.
The 54-year-old credit union spent $450,000 to acquire the land and will spend as much as $900,000 to renovate the existing building, about 2,700 square feet of space.
The Methuen Historic District Commission approved the project at an October meeting.
The $17 million credit union has been looking to move out of its city hall office for about five years, officials said.
