SAN DIEGO – Mitek Systems is introducing a new mobile banking application that enables consumers to switch credit union or bank credit card accounts as simply as “Point, Shoot and Transfer.”
Mitek said its Mobile Balance Transfer enables a credit union’s member to use a smart phone camera to take a picture of a competitor’s credit card payment coupon. The member transmits the information to the credit union, which then can offer the member a better interest rate to encourage the member to open a new credit card account and transfer an existing balance.
For credit unions and banks, Mitek said Mobile Balance Transfer broadens the reach of traditional balance-transfer-marketing programs, enabling the institution to interact with the member/customer in real time.
