MANCHESTER, N.H. – Brink’s guards hustled to collect as much as $2,000 in crisp $20 bills blowing through the wind Friday when a container holding money unfastened while an ATM at St. Mary’s Bank was being replenished.

Most of the wayward cash was recovered, but one witness told police the money was blowing all over the place and people were picking it up. At least one person was seen pocketing the cash and fleeing.
The guard told police he had removed cassettes of money from the machine and went to the truck to retrieve new cassettes. One of the replacement cassettes became unfastened, opened and the money fell to the ground.
