LARGO, Md. – Almost 40 employees of Money One FCU helped assemble prosthetic hands during their professional development program as part of the CU Helping Hands program.
The program builds functional prosthetic hands for global victims of land mines and other atrocities.
The functional prosthetic hands are distributed globally to children, women and men that have been victims of land mine accidents and other atrocities. The hands are assembled by credit union staff and volunteers for distribution at no cost to the recipient. Pictures of each assembly team are included in the box used to package the hand.
The program is offered to credit unions through the CU Philanthropy Group in partnership with Odyssey Teams, In., of Chico, Calif., and Rotary International. The CU Philanthropy Group is a division of the Conference Group, LLC, a Washington, D.C.-based CUSO.
