Monterey County Employees CU Hit by Phishing Scam

MONTEREY, Calif. – Members of Monterey County Employees CU are being warned not to respond to an email asking them for personal account information. The latest phishing attempt is being sent on the credit union’s letterhead and promises members a $20 gift certificate for participating in a survey, but the link to the email directs the members to a website that collects their personal information. Credit union officials are reminding members not to disclose personal information to the scammers.
