Kolhoff's resignation comes just months after longtime NASCUS President/CEO Mary Martha Fortney announced that she would retire later this year after 21 years with the association. Her replacement is expected to be named by the end of the year.

Kolhoff, who also serves as director of the Office of CUs in Michigan's Department of Insurance and Financial Services, served 10 months as a director for NASCUS. He is set to be succeeded by Michael Wettrich, deputy superintendent for CUs within the Department of Financial Institutions in the Ohio Department of Commerce.

Prior to taking on the short-lived role of chairman, Kolhoff served as secretary/treasurer of NASCUS from June 2012 to January 2013 and began serving on the association's board in 2011. He joined the association in 2003.
