More Than 250 Turn Out For Oregon CU Day At Capitol

More than 250 credit union employees, members, volunteers, and supporters turned out for the Credit Union Association of Oregon's (CUAO) 2005 Credit Union Day at the Capitol. The theme of this year's event was "Oregon's Credit Unions. You are the Bottom Line," which tied into the current statewide awareness campaign about the credit union difference.

Members of the Senate Leadership and the Speaker of the House addressed the attendees, before attendees spread out and spent the rest of the day with their local legislators. According to the CUAO, many of the legislators were very interested in the payday alternative loans that credit unions are offering their members.

The day wrapped up with a St. Patrick's Day themed cocktail and hors d'oeuvre reception, sponsored by CUAO, held at the new convention center in downtown Salem. Credit union employees, members, volunteers, and supporters attended, as well as more than 30 legislators.
