CHICAGO - (10/25/05) -- Alliant CU said it is earmarking itsmortgage fees-typically $100 for each mortgage loan it processes-toa special fund to benefit Habitat for Humanity. The collected fundswill be forwarded to Habitat for Humanity's special HurricaneKatrina Relief Fund through Nov. 30. In addition to a $10,000donation to the Red Cross, the credit union has also deferred loanpayments to affected members in this gulf region for six months,and provided a minimum of $1,500 in unsecured loans toeach.
