WASHINGTON -- Average mortgage rates in the U.S. rose over the past week, though fixed rates remained near historic lows, according to Freddie Mac.
The average for the 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage ticked up to 3.39% this week, from a record low of 3.36% last week; while the average for the 15-year loan inched up from an all-time low of 2.69% to 2.70%.
ARM rates also moved slightly higher, with the average for the five-year ARM rising to 2.73%, form 2.72% last week; and the average for the one-year ARM moving to 2.59%, from 2.57%.
