WASHINGTON Long-term mortgage rates declined this week after increasing for the previous five weeks in a row, according to Freddie Mac.
The average for the benchmark 30-year loan fell to 3.93% this week, from 3.98% last week; and the average for the 15-year, fixed-rate mortgage dipped to 3.04%, from 3.10%.
ARM rates held steady, with the average for the five-year ARM unchanged at 2.79% and the average for the one-year ARM dipping to 2.57%, from 2.58%.
