Mother Postpones Plea In RobberyCase

DURANGO, Colo. - (09/26/05) – A mother accused with herdaughter of robbing Southwest Colorado FCU of $105,000 last Maydeclined to enter a plea last week while she hopes to resolveseveral separate charges pending against her. Sharon Vaughn, 60, ischarged with robbing the credit union on May 24 with her daughter,Danja Vaughn. Both women were facing charges of theft and forgeryin El Paso County Court when they allegedly held up the creditunion, adding to their legal woes. The Vaughns were arrested afterthe mother tried to pay her landlord $20,000 in $20 bills,apparently taken from the credit union. Both mother and daughterattempted suicide on June 9 after police searched their house andfound $85,494 of the credit union's cash.
