SALT LAKE CITY - Mountain America Credit Union boasts five years without an increase in health insurance premiums.
Mountain America participates in a variety of programs and activities to promote health and wellness, including:
* Mountain America's corporate office has an on-site fitness facility that's free for employees;
* 40% of Mountain America employees participated in an on-site health screening;
* As a company, Mountain America lost nearly 700 pounds during the Summer Slim Down;
* During last year's open enrollment the credit union educated employees on the appropriate time to go to the emergency room as opposed to InstaCare and saw a 25% reduction in emergency room use;
* Mountain America employees participated in 18 events through the corporate games;
* Mountain America held its first ever walk/run event;
* More than 100 employees participated in the MS Walks and MS 150 bike race;
* Last year the credit union introduced Project 0, with 50% of the company participating and 90% of the teams losing weight.
The Utah Department of Workforce Services has recognized Mountain America for four consecutive years as being a top company to work for.
