DENVER - (11/08/05) -- A 43-year-old man suspected in asmany as 23 area robberies over a seven-week spree earlier this yearwas sentenced Monday to 69 months in prison. Tyler Hamilton, dubbedthe Mr. Magoo Bandit because he wore thick eyeglasses during theheists, pleaded guilty to robbing six financial institutions,including Columbine FCU, in the metro area between Jan. 27 andMarch 21. Hamilton was also ordered to pay $46,279 inrestitution.
