NAFCU names its 2004 annual award winners

NAFCU has announced the winners of its 2004 "Beyond Expectations" awards honoring professional of the year, federal credit union of the year and volunteer of the year.

Dow Louisiana FCU was named Federal Credit Union of the Year for FCU's with assets fewer than $150 million.

Vons Employess FCU took Federal Credit Union of the Year honors in the greater than $150 million in assets category.

Carolina Trust FCU CEO James McDaniel won Professional of the Year for credit unions will fewer than $150 million in assets while Arno Easterly, of Barksdale FCU was named Professional of the Year for credit unions with more than $150 million in assets.

Volunteer of the Year in the fewer than $150 million asset category went to Chris Yarnell of YOUR FCU. T. S. Jones of Hudson Valley FCU took Volunteer of the Year honors in the greater than $150 million in assets category.

NAFCU also named its 2004 Marketing Awards winners in seven different areas with two asset ranges represented in each one.

Best Annual Report (less than $150M in assets): Kaiperm FCU, Oakland Calif.

Best Annual Report ($150 or more in assets): Michigan State University FCU, East Lansing, Mich.

Best Promotional Campaign (less than $150M in assets): YOUR FCU, Irving, Texas, "Happy Rates."

Best Promotional Campaign (more than $150M in assets): ABNB FCU, Virginia Beach, Va., "Better than a Bank/You're the Boss"

Best Lending Promotion (less than $150M in assets): LA DOTD FCU, Baton Rouge, La., "Hot and Spicy Refried Loans."

Best Lending Promotion (mess than $150M in assets): Toyota FCU, Torrance, Calif., Online Lending.

Best Membership Promotion (less than $150M in assets): Otero FCU, Alamogordo, N.M., Business Card Promotion.

Best Membership Promotion (mess than $150M in assets): Insight Financial Credit Union, Orlando, Fla., Brand New Look-Name Change Lenticular.

Best Member Newsletter (less than $150M in assets): AmeriChoice FCU, Mechanicsburg, Penn., Choice Topics.

Best Member Newsletter (more than $150M in assets): Digital FCU, Marlborough, Mass., Network Newsletter.

Best Product or Service Promotion (less than $150M in assets): Dow Louisiana FCU, Plaquemine, La., Upgrade Kit.
