NAFCU Recognizes Winners In Awards Competition

NAFCU has recognized 22 winners as part of its Annual Awards Competition. The awards will be presented during NAFCU's Annual Conference & Exhibition in Boston, July 23-26.

Recognized were:

Professionals of the Year: Alan Prindle, President-CEO, PanAm Horizons FCU, Miami (less than $150 million); David Bartone, CEO, Corning FCU, Corning, N.Y.

Volunteers of the Year: Johnny Holloway, chair, Duke University FCU in Durham, N.C. (less than $150 million); Betty M. Petree, director, Pen Air FCU, Pensacola, Fla.

($150 million or more).

FCUs of the Year: 1st Community FCU, San Angelo, Texas (less than $150 million); United Nations FCU, New York, ($150 million or more).

Innovation Showcase Awards: 1st Place, SunState FCU, Gainesville, Fla. for its Personalized Call Queue System. Second Place: Hawaii USA FCU, Honolulu, for its Students Serving the Underserved.

Marketing Awards went to:

Best Membership Promotion: Southwest IBM Employees FCU, Irving, Texas for its "Rock Roll" campaign; and Michigan State University FCU, East Lansing, for its "Great Minds Think Alike"

Best Annual Report: LA DOTD FCU, Baton Rouge, La. and Digital FCU, Marlborough, Mass.

Best Product-Service Promotion: Southwest IBM Employees FCU, Austin, Texas, for its "Skaters, Boarders and Bladers Youth Club," and TopLine FCU, Maple Grove, Minn., for "Hawaii."

Best Lending Promotion: Hamilton Sundstrand FCU, Windsor Locks, Conn., for "Spend Less Dough," and Central Florida Educators' FCU, Orlando, for "Dream Little or Dream Big."

Best Promotional Campaign: Southwest IBM Employees FCU for "Extreme Sports," and Keesler FCU, Biloxi, Miss., for "If the Checking Fits."

Best Website: Parsons FCU, Pasadena, Calif. for its site at www.parsonsfcu.org, and MacDill FCU, Tampa, Fla., for www.macdill.org
