VIENNA, Va. – Navy FCU, the world’s biggest and one of the fastest growing credit unions, yesterday said it has expanded its field of membership to include the Army and Air Force.

The credit union currently serves more than three million members from the Navy and Marine Corps, and now will accept all Army and Navy active duty, National Guard and reserve personnel, as well as Defense Department civilian employees.
The FOM expansion was approved by NCUA.
Navy, which has been the largest credit union for some time, has grown from $27 billion at year-end 2006 to $35.3 billion at the end of this year’s first quarter. It has 150 branches and plans to add as many as 180 new branches – 30 a year – over the next six years.
