Navy FCU Floats More New Branches

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Navy FCU this week opened a new branch here to members in the serve the Fort Gordon area, the 23rd new branch opened by the credit union giant this year.

Navy Fed, which has grown to almost $36 billion in assets, opened 34 new branches last year and has announced plans to double its 167-branch network by 2012.

The world’s largest credit union recently expanded beyond the Navy and is now authorized to serve anyone in the U.S. military.

Navy Fed reported $157.3 million in net income for the first three quarters of the year, a return-on-assets of about 0.62%.
