Navy FCU Lands At Walter Reed Medical Center

BETHESDA, Md. – Navy FCU is opening a new branch tomorrow at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, adjacent to the new 150,000 square-foot Navy Exchange shopping mall on Wisconsin Ave., a stone’s throw from the Washington D.C., border where the preeminent military hospital was moved two years ago.

The branch if the sixth opened by the $52 billion credit union so far in 2012, and 41st since the start of 2010, a time when most credit unions and banks have been retrenching. Since then, the world’s largest credit union has added more than one million new members.

“I’m thrilled at the opportunity to open a new branch and bring Navy Federal’s service on-base,” said James Horner, manager of the new branch. “We have a tenured team of diverse experience and we’re looking forward to being a great addition to the Navy Exchange shopping area.”

The grand opening of Navy Federal’s Walter Reed branch will feature exclusive offers on CDs and an incentive for opening an Active Duty Checking account.
