VIENNA, Va. – Tens of thousands of Navy FCU members around the globe were unable to access their accounts yesterday after a massive power outage at the credit union’s headquarters in northern Virginia shut down phone services.
Members at branches from Arizona to Georgia to Virginia were unable to access their Navy Federal Online accounts and numerous branches were unable to process transactions.
However, members still could conduct some transactions inside local branches.
The credit union giant reported on its website that the integrity of accounts has been preserved and repairs to the system were to have been completed yesterday.
