N.C. State Employees CU Launches Low-Income Tax Assistance

RALEIGH, N.C. – State Employees CU and its affiliate Local Government FCU said yesterday they have struck a deal with the IRS to offer Volunteer Income Tax Assistance to low-income residents at 215 branches across the state. The VITA program offers free tax assistance to people with low and moderate incomes. The two credit unions estimate as many as 400,000 of their members are eligible for the service. The extensive statewide branch network will allow the CUs the ability to reach every corner of the state.
