The joint event, part of both organizations' activities recognizing Older Americans Month, will take place on Twitter at 11 a.m. Eastern, May 13. Credit unions and consumers can follow the conversation and contribute by using the hashtag #NCUAChat on Twitter, and questions can be submitted beforehand by e-mailing socialmedia@ncua.gov.

NCUA's social media and outreach specialist Kenzie Snowden will moderate the chat along with Ken Worthy, NCUA financial literacy and outreach analyst, and Rosa Maymi and Jennifer Beam of AARP's Fraud Watch network. The four will also share resources from MyCreditUnion.gov and NCUA's "Scams Targeting Seniors" video, and discuss the AARP Fraud Watch Network

The partnership between the two groups follows a memorandum of understanding signed last year, as the pair work together on multiple initiatives to promote financial education and outreach.
