ALEXANDRIA, Va. - (09/26/05) NCUA said Friday it will extendthe filing deadline for third-quarter Call Reports for all creditunions affected by Hurricane Katrina. The agency noted that theU.S. Pos Offices in New Orleans and in other cities primarily tothe south and east of New Orleans have suspended mail deliveryoperations. In addition, there are other federally insured creditunions located in areas affected by Hurricane Katrina withavailable mail service that may need additional time to submit anaccurate 5300 Call Report due to ongoing challenges related to theaftermath of the hurricane. As a result, NCUA said will allowaffected credit unions additional time to submit a Call Report ifneeded. Credit unions affected by Katrina needing additional timeto file a Call Report should contact their NCUA regional directoror state supervisory authority for an extension.
