NCUA Issues Prohibition Orders For Trio Of Former CU Staffers

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — NCUA issued three prohibition orders for November, banning the following individuals from participating in any federally insured financial institution:

*Carrie Bomyea, a former employee of Glass City FCU, Maumee, Ohio. Bomyea pleaded guilty to charges of embezzlement and was sentenced to 18 months in prison, five years supervised release and must pay nearly $200,000 in restitution.

*Armelinda Castillo, a former employee of WesTex FCU, Lubbock, Texas. Castillo was convicted of misapplication of funds by a bank employee and sentenced to 37 months in prison, five years supervised release and must pay $690,000 in restitution.

*Yolanda O'Keefe, a former employee of Connecticut Community CU, Pawcatuck, Conn. Rather than plead guilty, O'Keefe entered a pre-trial rehabilitation program for the charge of larceny, and was ordered to complete a Gamblers Anonymous program, stay away from the CU's premises, complete 50 hours of community service and was prohibited from all casinos.

Violation of these prohibition orders is a felony offense punishable by imprisonment and fines of as much as $1 million.
