NCUA Names Deputy Chief Financial Officer

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — NCUA announced that Peggy Sherry has been named as the agency's deputy chief financial officer, effective today.

Sherry comes to NCUA from the Internal Revenue Service, where she served as deputy commissioner for operations support. Previously, she worked as chief financial officer at the Department of Homeland Security and also held senior financial management positions at the U.S. Holocaust Museum and the Government Accountability Office.

"I am pleased to welcome Peggy Sherry to NCUA and look forward to working with her," NCUA Executive Director Mark Treichel said in a statement. "Her deep experience in financial management, in both the private and public sectors, has been marked by her intelligence, professionalism, innovation and sound judgment, all of which will serve NCUA and the credit unions we regulate and insure very well."

Sherry has a M.S. degree in accounting and finance from the University of Maryland and a B.S. degree in accounting from George Mason University.
