The National Credit Union Administration has released its 2017 reporting cycle and due dates for 2017 Call Reports.
Starting with the Dec. 31, 2016 reporting cycle, federally insured natural-person credit unions will have until the final Sunday of the month following the end of the quarter to file Call Reports. Due dates for 2017 are as follows:
On average, credit unions will now have an additional seven days to file Call Reports. Further details about the filing due dates and processing for 2017 will be posted on the regulator's webpage at a later date.
"Using the last Sunday of the month following the end of the quarter ensures NCUA field staff will be able to better plan their schedules for conducting call report validations while providing credit unions greater flexibility in filing," NCUA said in the release.
The agency said it may consider other options for setting future Call Reports filing deadlines, such as using a fixed date, based on its experience with the new changes and other potential improvements to further streamline the process.
NCUA said the comprehensive review of the Call Report and credit union profile content announced in May are ongoing, and more information is available at the agency's Call Report
